Summary:
In the context of comprehensive educational reform in Vietnam, improving the quality of English language education programs has become a strategic priority. A key determinant of training quality is the alignment of curricula with international standards. This study examines the extent to which English language programs in Vietnam align with the accreditation standards of the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), with particular attention to three key dimensions: teaching and learning methodology, teaching staff, and cooperation and partnerships. The study adopts a qualitative document analysis approach, drawing on multiple data sources, including FIBAA accreditation guidelines, national policy documents, and relevant journal articles. These materials are analysed using the FIBAA criteria as a conceptual framework to evaluate current practices and identify areas of convergence and divergence between the Vietnamese context and international benchmarks. The findings indicate that, despite notable efforts toward modernization and internationalization, several challenges remain. Based on these findings, the paper proposes recommendations focusing on three core areas: (1) innovating teaching and learning methodologies; (2) improving the quality of teaching staff; and (3) enhancing cooperation and partnerships. These findings offer valuable implications for policymakers, institutional administrators, and educators in shaping effective strategies that facilitate the alignment of English language programs in Vietnamese institutions with international standards.
